The Dating Game

I am a single woman and have been for many years now.  As I wrote my novel Yesterday’s Lies I made every effort to give a realistic view of both sides of the dating game.  The story is told from each characters perspective and the reviews that I have received thus far indicate that I was able to capture a realistic view from both the men and women on how they feel about their relationships with one another. Although the lines of communication appear to be open, the men and women seem to have very different views of their relationships.  The characters reactions to situations are believable and no matter what your age you will find yourself being able to relate to what they are thinking and feeling.

As a single woman I was able to dig deep inside of myself and bring some of the emotions I have experienced into my characters, specifically Toni.  For whatever reason it seems that so many women either lower their standards just to get a man or they have set the bar so high no man would ever be good enough for them anyway.  Whatever the case is women routinely settle for less than what they deserve when it comes to relationships.  The old saying a good man is hard to find is very true if you have no clue what you are looking for or what the definition of a good man is.

As you read Yesterday’s Lies, you may find yourself falling in and out of love with the characters as they navigate through the challenges of looking for, finding, and keeping love.   If you are single and currently in the dating game you might think twice about how you communicate with your partner after reading Yesterday’s Lies.  Some may characterize Yesterday’s Lies as a love story but keep in mind that not all love stories have a fairy tale ending.  The story is not predictable, it has many twists, and turns that will surprise you.  Some will make you laugh, and some will make you cry.

In the end both women and men who read Yesterday’s Lies will have a clearer picture of what the other sex is really thinking and feeling about dating and how men and women communicate with each other. Yesterday’s Lies will leave both men and women with many discussion topics as they each explore how they were able to relate to a specific character or situation.
